BISHOP’S WALTHAM PARISH COUNCIL - COMMUNITY SUPPORT OFFICER.

Bishop’s Waltham Parish Council is looking to recruit a Community Support Officer.

This maybe a full time or part-time (37 hours pw maximum) post to provide a patrolling presence in areas of need to improve the wellbeing of local residents by helping to make people feel safer.

Main responsibilities:

To patrol areas of the Bishop’s Waltham parish by foot, bicycle or vehicle for the purpose of deterring crime and anti-social behaviour.

To establish trusted relationships with individuals who might have the potential for unsocial behaviour, and with individuals who might feel vulnerable in their homes.

To gather and record evidence of suspicious behaviour, anti-social behaviour and environmental problems.

To contribute to community safety issues as part of wider Community Services activity and on environmental and crime reduction initiatives.

To undertake traffic control measures including management and education in certain areas i.e. outside schools.

The Council is seeking an individual who has the ability to prioritise and organise a busy workload and can communicate effectively with a variety of people.

The ability to work alone and on own initiative and a positive enthusiastic approach are essential.

GCSE or equivalent in English and good numeracy and literacy skills required.

Annual salary will be based on previous experience/qualifications.
