Loss of a much loved colleague

Published: 08 June 2023

James Rushton, aged 40, was always a cheerful and friendly face within the team of which he’d been a part of since 2011.

His dedication to the role and his humour and warmth will be greatly missed within the Council, and also Bishop’s Waltham community itself. James was daily seen in the parks and grounds on the mower or doing his rounds, always helpful, friendly and diligent. He enjoyed grass cutting duties, lining the football pitches, raising the flag at the Jubilee Hall, managing the speed indicator device, sounding the air raid siren for Remembrance Day, refurbishing playground equipment and so many other jobs that he took pride in doing for Bishop’s Waltham residents.

The Council, and James’ family, thank all of those who have offered condolences and shown appreciation of this special man – he will be greatly missed.
